MANAGEMENT
THE FRITZ KREISLER SOCIETY has been organizing the INTERNATIONAL FRITZ KREISLER VIOLIN COMPETITION since 1979 at the Musikverein or Konzerthaus in Vienna, Austria. The Competition is a member of the Fédération Mondiale des Concours Internationaux de Musique, Geneva, and takes place every four years.
In organizing Austria’s most important international violin competition the Fritz Kreisler Society makes a significant contribution to supporting the future generation of top violinists and to preserving the musical and humanitarian heritage of the great Austrian violin virtuoso and composer, Fritz Kreisler.
The Fritz Kreisler Society was recently restructured and a goal was set to make the Competition even more attractive and, in cooperation with existing as well as new funders and sponsors, to once again host a first class musical cultural event.
Furthermore, the Fritz Kreisler Society plans, with the help of funders and sponsors, to undertake the:
- Financial support of young, promising violinists studying in Austria (Talent-Scholarship funds)
- Organization of international master classes to support the next generation of top violin soloists as well as advanced courses for teachers (young violin pedagogues) in Austria
- Scientific research
- Events to commemorate the musical legacy of Fritz Kreisler

PARTICIPANTS’ SUPPORT
The major aim of the International Fritz Kreisler Violin Competition is to support highly talented violin soloists of all nationalities.
The support is given on the one hand during the competition by:
- providing free accommodation for the young artists that are invited to the competition in music loving families of members of the Viennese Rotary Clubs
- offering up to four performance opportunities during the competitive selection rounds at the Wiener Konzerthaus and other important venues in Vienna, including the opportunity to work with the ORF Orchestra.
- the six main prizes and special prizes awarded to the best participants. The prizes offered to the winners should help them to grow in their careers.
and on the other hand in the years immediately following the competition by:
- arranging concert engagements for the top prize winners (solo performances with orchestra and recitals with piano)
- arranging radio, television and CD recordings for the top prize winners.
